Connect Vdd and ground to, respectively, positive supply and ground of the circuit being tested. Touch input probe to terminal of circuit being tested. LEDs indicate logic status (L=LOW; H=HIGH). R1 - table gives values for ~5mA current. Okay to use 2.2K for all values of Vdd if LEDs are super-bright units.
