Designed for Mars, the Antbot Rocker can handle difficult terrain on any planet you can get it to. Our rocker-bogie-tackle suspension lets it use differential steering, making it faster and more agile than other rocker-bogie designs, with less moving parts.
This chassis package is designed for multiple platforms and does not include an Antbot Motherboard. You can add a control system of your choice to your order!
This chassis can be used with our Antbot Motherboard, the SMOL, or as a standalone product that you can attach your own control system to. Control systems are sold separately. This chassis is also fully ready for Antbot 2.0, and it's compatible with all existing, and new, Antbot parts and accessories, should you choose the Antbot compatible center box.
There is also a version compatible with the Parallax Small Robot Chassis
and associated control boards, such as the Board of Education. This
does not have a center box, and instead has two rails to mount the
rollers for the rocker-bogie-tackle suspension inside the Parallax
chassis.
The motors on the Tutor chassis can be run on a wide range of battery voltages without issue; note that above 7.4V (2S) the lifespan of the motors and gearboxes may be reduced, and we cannot guarantee their durability if you overvolt them. Even with these entry level motors, the Tutor can climb steps and rocks with a 500g payload - over three times its own weight - and drive around carrying up to 15lbs thanks to its strong suspension.
